Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, the Mexican American broadcaster. She is the host of SportsNation as well as a SportsCenter anchor. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. She is the daughter of the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been so since the age of nine. Her ability in this area helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She was able to work alongside national producers on shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. Her move from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. In reporting on news stories about drugs and immigration issues on both sides the Texas-Mexico border, she was an anchor for KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5pm, then an anchor for the news channel with a news anchor in English for 9 pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10pm before returning back to channel Spanish channel. They eventually relocated from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She's older than her sister. The family moved to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. Her parents divorced shortly thereafter and, in 1995, she was married an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. Her residence was at Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime, where she had been given the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was a senior in high school and had a clear idea of the path she wanted to pursue. When she was deciding whether Mount Union is the right choice for her Antonietta decided to go visit the university. In the end she fell in love with the university. The university offered her an academic major. After completing her high school education, she attended the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was deeply touched by his passion for journalism.
